And secondly I also felt it was important that people understand that there is an anti-venom that is being studied to counter the scorpion sting. Reactions like these are rare and deaths are extremely rare the last one was reported about 40 years ago. Scorpion stings are on the rise as Valley temperatures heat up. Banner Good Samaritan Poison and Drug Information Center reported 66 calls for scorpion stings in the past week.
